Palin Digging Her Own Grave

Posted by Greg T. on October 1st, 2008 in This and that, Videos

A coworker once counseled me, that if confronted or frustrated by a situation where someone is of questionable competence, the best thing to do is to let the person’s own incompetence shine through. Set up some pins and let the person knock em down.

Here’s Couric setting up some pins for Palin and Paling not even able to tie her bowling shoes.

Thank You’s

Posted by Greg T. on September 19th, 2008 in CA/Home, New York, This and that

It was my birthday a few days ago.  After birthdays and Christmases when was but a youngin’ I was forced to write thank you notes for every gift I received.  I used to boiler plate them out like none other.  Even though each note was exactly the same, it taught me the importance of a handwritten letter.

Nowadays, the only handwritten thank you notes I write are to my grandma back in the bay area.  She sends me the nicest cards (and a few shiny nickels) on non-present giving holidays like Halloween, Valentines Day, Easter, and Thanksgiving–along with the usual gift giving holidays.

So, I got some niiiiice Vera Wang stationary and I jot her a nice little bread and butter note whenever she sends something.  Thanks Grandma!

Go Away Winter

rain on a window

Dear Winter,

I think we’ve all had enough of you. You’re cold and blistery. You’ve rained on my parade not one but three times. I think it’s high time you packed up your stuff and went back to where you came from.

Thanks,
Greg

More from the Moma

Posted by Greg T. on October 5th, 2007 in New York, This and that

Christian and I painted the apartment today. The living roomed turned what home depot likes to call “Celery Ice.” I’m lukewarm on it. My lone mattress got a box spring. It’s the first time in 7 months that I’m sleeping on what I’d consider to be a complete and real bed. By some random alignment of the cosmos, I have Monday off (for Columbus day). I think I’ll go to dia:beacon. Speaking of cosmos and alignment, my mom got an iPhone. Weird huh? Do you work in the tech industry? Ever wonder what your compatriots are earning? It’s all right here.

Below, Richard Serra struts his stuff.

Oh man. Strong machine 2 is awesome. She’s the 12 year Japanese half of a father-daughter pop and lock duo. Here’s the video, you’ll see what I mean… (gets awesome at 1:35)

Yay weekend

Every weekend is filled with new food, new places, new people.

Beer pong, photo from a while back, is still admittedly fun.  (ilford xp2)

I got an invite to I’m in Like with You, a cute/hot social networking site of the moment.  Aside from their wonderful design, their exclusivity is really the only other thing that attracts me to them.  You can’t communicate with people unless you play their game and win.  Literally.  You have to play it and win.  I have one invite to give out.  I’m going to give it to a girl because there is currently a 1:3 girl to guy ratio, which is crappy.  I’m going to devise a non-monetary contest to give out the invite.  Or maybe I’ll just give it to Karen, who gave me a Wallop.com invite.

This picture is a result of  1) lightroom crashing upon opening and disenfranchising me from my entire photo library and 2) Bridge not loading (and crashing) and disenfranchising me from my entire photo library.  This is a leftover from my blog makeover attempt.
