barf sprinkler

I saw this on engadget. When I saw it, I thought that’s a mess waiting to happen…..barf sprinkler. I reminds me of spit spin out at Magic Mountain. Nobody likes that ride. It makes you feel like death by vomitage.

Midomi

I recently discovered Midomi via Techcrunch. It’s a website that allows you to search for a song by singing it. It also lets you create a profile, save your singing and share it with the world. I didn’t realize the humor in it until Jen pointed it out last night.

So you know the show Myth Busters? I had an idea and wanted to email them. Yeah sounds pretty lame. I know. Turns out, a lot of people have ideas, so the discovery channel hosts a discussion board to submit your ideas.

Unfortunately, most of the ideas/myths that people suggested are either submitted by 5 year olds, people obsessed with killing and death or people with no real grasp on reality. Here are some submitted myths (some aren’t even myths):

-if you eat a whole watermelon by yourself will you die?

-can you kill a human being with throwing knives?

- can you slide down an elevator shaft with 2 pistols?

- is organic food better than regular food?

- can mud actually block heat seeking devices? (maybe predator inspired?)

- can a man commit suicide with playing cards?

- can a man jump from one cliff to another?

- does size matter (if you know what i mean)?

- can a human body contain a hand grenade blast?

- “toaster in a bathtub”

- in world war I, were guns timed on a plane? (I don’t really think this is a myth…)

- can you make a pen into a deadly weapon?

- Is it true that if you put enough jello into your swimming pool, you’ll be able to walk on water?

Ok, you see what I mean. Here’s a quote from a poster regarding the toaster suggestion: “has any of [you] ever touched a electric cattle fence? i did. it was high voltage and had a hard time to get my hand to let go of the handle to the gate section.”

Hong Kong, 2006. I think I took this picture to use up the film…so that I could shoot with some 3200tx. What a mistake. (Astia)

“What say we settle this on the runway, Han-Solo!”

I visted the MOCFA–the Museum of Craft and Folk art which was hosting an exhibit by Delphine Hirasuna of a collection of art pieces from WWII Japanese interment camps. I must say that the Japanese are quite resourceful given the time and gumption. All of the pieces were constructed out of what could be found at the camps–scrap wood, scrap metal, rocks, seashells.
An then there’s the iPhone. It was hot and sexy, but it was not to be touched as it was encased behind a lot of plastic. Lots of onlookers crowded around to snap pictures with their now very antiquated and somewhat jealous cell phones. I accidentally touched the case with my camera and the Apple guard person asked me, “could you not…”
