Heartburn

I’ve called 911 a total of 3 times in my life. In Sacramento, I called to report a burglary to my car (I didn’t really think about the whole life threatening emergency). Fortunately, Sacramento sucks hardcore, and it rang 10 times then put me on hold for the next dispatcher. I hung up. The second time was about a month ago. A customer dropped his wallet and stumbled a bit while leaving the shop. He started saying something about how he couldn’t see and was light-headed. I think the bike shop brethren are somewhat jaded to such occurances…having to tolerate drunk/psycho bums, tubes exploding (deafeningly loud), cocky/incomptent/non-english speaking customers and the occasional on the job injury. But when we looked at his face, it was dark yellow (he wasn’t asian) and his lips were purple and blue. It was quite scary. He bascially had a severe drop in blood pressure. I called 9-911 (campus phone), paramedics came he was fine in the end.

The third time was last night. I heard voices, and a car door open at about 3am, which by IV standards would be a quiet night, but by grown up standards in our complex, is cause for suspicion I peered out my 2nd story window to find several guys examining each car in the parking lot to see if it was unlocked, or if there was anything worth stealing. The truck beneath my window happened to be unlocked, and one guy was looking around the inside. They quickly moved on to other cars. I debated what I should do, local googled “goleta police,” which gave me nothing of use then decided to hit up 911. On a cell, the ring is different. I’ve heard that cell 911 calls get patched through to a center in Ventura, which isn’t much help if you’re trying to describe something local. They transferred me to the SB sheriff’s dept, and said they’d send someone over to check it out.

It must hvae been a slow night because no less than 3 cruisers and 4 officers were there within 5 minutes. They ended up finding 3 teenage kids who looked like the guys I had spotted. I didn’t stick around for the aftermath, I’m sure the kids had a shitty rest of the night.

bbq

I brought my bbq to the shop/work a while back. Nothing like drumsticks or tri tip or carne asada at work. (Fuji Astia 100)

I’m Back

My blog is finally back up and running!!!!

Happy Birthday to Karen Ko!

Had a nice weekend with Diane shooting some portraits for a calender. I’d post them but I can’t.

I spent part of last week in SD hanging out w/ Matt, Jordan and friends, shooting a channel101(.com) short. I think it’ll be beyond funny.

Met up with David and Jake “pull the damn trigger” Chang while in SD. We had some good pho as usual. I think pho has become a tradition for us as David said, “the smell of pho reminds me of you.” Well the smell of nards reminds me of you David. I also met Kim, a girl that Jake should probably just drop the hammer, pull the trigger, or play the game with.
