Life

Posted by Greg T. on April 29th, 2006 in Uncategorized

Pretty busy weekend. I’ll be at PCN all day Saturday, prepping during the dress rehersal, then shooting during the event, video that is. Doing a sort of 3 camera setup.

Sunday is Matt and Jordan’s Reel Loud shoot. They’re spending a lot of time and energy and money putting theirs together. I think it’s going to be amazing. They have a legit camera, cool set decoraction, a great story (I think) and a lot of talent people working on it.

In other news the Firestone MTB race is this weekend, as well as the WCCC (cycling) championships in slo, both of which I would be at if I wasn’t trying to be a better filmmaker.

I have to wake up in 4 hours, perhaps I should get some sleep.

Took some quick pics of Karl’s art project this afternoon. It’s a steel chair with looping steel tubes coming off of the top. On the beach, it looked pretty cool.

VII Seminar

Posted by Greg T. on April 26th, 2006 in Uncategorized

I light of recent articles regarding the toxic sludge that is Myspace, I’ve decided to give myself an ultimatum.

I’m giving myself 3 weeks (May 17th, 12:01 am) to learn how to and construct an awesome css based myspace profile or I’m going to delete my account. It’s just to see that crap that passes for web pages on myspace. No I don’t want to hear your music. No I don’t want to have to scroll right because your profile is 1900 pixels wide. No I don’t want to have to highlight text in your profile in order to read it because it blends in with the static picture of a cat, flower or sunset that makes up your background.

So either way it’s a win-win situation…If I make a new profile, I’ll have learned some very useful web design, if I don’t…well Myspace never really did much for me in the first place.

Nikon on the table at an Indian Buffet. I’m experimenting scanning color negatives as positives and playing with the levels to get a good image. Seems to have a greater dmax than the software’s negative conversion (negafix). And I thought these negs were going to be a waste. (Fuji pro160s, demo software=watermarked image)

$20 doesn’t go very far in a decent sushi place these days. But from Tokyo Fish Market, $20 can get you a half pould of hamachi (yellowtail) and a half pound of Ahi (yellowfin tuna) that’s fresher than any resturant sashimi. Mmmm….I miss the bay. (Kodak 400cn)

Temporarily Changed

I can’t even describe this weekend. The VII Seminar made me want to be a better person in addition to being a better photographer.
