old school stuff is cool

Spent part of today working on the car. I’m doing my own 60k mile tune up which should save about $450. And I get to get dirty. Edited some video (pgrad, api) and shot for the Nexus…summer issue will be out Wednesday.

Holga-ee. Found an old Kodak DC260 (digital camera). This picture was taken with it. I think we got it in 1998 when people would say “digital what? digital who?” when you didn’t hold the camera to your face to take the picture. $800 for a 1.5 megapixel camera. The focusing is broken but it still takes pictures. The art is in its nostalgia.

Out of town

In Valencia currently, but for some reason I’m still posting. Neways, to the Getty perhaps? Finally went grocery shopping after moving in; however too much olive oil and bread is not good. Olive oil works in the same manner that we’d all like draino to work–it flushes everything in the pipes down and out.

Pre 4th. In preparation for 4th of July celebrations I think I’m going to stock up on fireworks while I’m outside of SB county.

I’m hungry

Went to JT’s sister’s wedding this weekend. I haven’t been to a wedding in I can’t remember how long. Probably because none of my friends are getting married yet. It was a Vietnamese wedding so people have asked me was the reception at a Chinese restuarant? Was the first platter of food some sort of cold seafood lunch meat? Was there a liter of coke, sprite, tonic water and a bottle of remy cognac on each table? Yes, yes and yes. Pretty funny how Vietnamese weddings are similar in that respect.

Had really good Pho in Reseda, then Mitchel’s grad party in Oxnard with good Filipino food.

Tina Nguyen prepares to throw her bouqet. She actually threw the bouquet off of the ceiling causing rose petals to rain down over the waiting group of women. Wait. I just took a step back from this picture…do you think something completely different is going on in this picture (if you know what I mean)? If so I’ll take it down.

Don’t tell me to go in the pool if you don’t really mean it. I’ll see you in Japan.

I’m a huge nerd.

Posted by Greg T. on June 24th, 2005 in Uncategorized

Thursday night. I should be out…partying, drinking. But no, first I ironed clothes, then I tried to tackle the craphole that is currently my room. Then, the nerdiest thing of all, my new motherboard has a bunch of temperature sensors and a cool utility to look at power, fan speeds and temperatures, so I renderrf some video, using the cpu at 100%, to see how much the temperature rises. Why you might ask? Because I’m a nerd.

Experimented at the beach the other day with underexposing and using the flash to fill in the exposure. The sun made a nice hairlight in the shots. Thanks for modeling JT, you’re hot.
